Mary Lintermann has a passion for all thing’s real estate. Throughout the chapters of her career, she's owned, developed, designed, constructed, invested, managed, and sold a variety of real estate properties. It's even in her genes, as her grandfather was a NYC architect and AIA Fellow.
Born in Bronxville, New York, Mary grew up in the New York metro area. She attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania receiving a degree in Structural Engineering. Mary met her husband, Chris, while working for a large engineering firm near New York City, Burns & Roe, where her career had evolved from engineering to doing strategic planning for the parent company. During the return flight from their honeymoon, Chris proposed moving to Stowe, Vermont, as he had always enjoyed skiing there as a child. Within a few months, they left for Stowe.
Vermont held wonderful "road less traveled" chapters. In addition to developing, designing, and building over a dozen premier single-family homes in Stowe, Mary was a vice president of business development for a large multi-state commercial construction firm, while Chris owned an engineering and a small construction firm. Upon ending her commercial construction career, Mary chose to 'complete the circle' and finally sell residential real estate in Stowe.
Mary served on dozens of local and statewide boards while in Vermont, including several governor-appointed boards that focused on economic development and entrepreneurship. She enjoyed the small scale of Vermont and the fact that one person can make a big difference.
During their time in Vermont, Mary and Chris had one child, Kate, who graduated from Savannah College of Art & Design and is currently a creative/industrial designer in Seattle. Mary and Kate learned to ski and to sail while living in Vermont. With their last sailboat based in Jamestown, RI, Mary and Chris' coastal sailing adventures included racing their boat to Bermuda.
Mary and Chris moved full time to Vero Beach in 2017, after renting here for several years to be near her aging parents. They renovated a Central Beach home and recently completed a 1031 exchange for another Vero Beach property. These projects inspired Mary to resume her real estate sales career chapter.
Enjoying an active lifestyle, Mary is rekindling past interests, such as golf, tennis, and biking and taking advantage of Vero Beach's many amenities now that her free time is no longer consumed by coastal sailing. The wonderful resource of the Vero Beach Museum of Art has inspired Mary to further explore drawing and painting, so she has recently added that to her long list of interests and activities. Valuing volunteerism and giving back , she hopes to use her skills to support and improve the many worthwhile organizations serving Vero Beach and beyond. “Like Stowe, Vero Beach is a resort town with a wonderful sense of community and generosity.”
